Our Values
At Carlton Road our values run through all we do and are reflected in the school’s expectations for learning, behaviour, and our curriculum. They underpin all the knowledge we want our children to acquire.
Our ethos “Aspire to Achieve” demonstrates the simplest representation of what we want our children to embody. If they aspire to achieve the very most and best they can; they are highly likely to do so.
Using “Aspire” as our inspiration we can demonstrate our values in a way that supports the children to recall and model them.
Our school’s expectations are also clear in our representation of two statements that have always applied to us but have not been so graphically shared until recently.
The historic spire at Boston “Stump”, proper name St Botolph’s Church, has overlooked our town for centuries. It is the tallest Church tower in England with 365 steps, one for each day of the year, what better motivational image could we find to encourage our children to “Aim High”.
Travel a little further to the coast where the vast Lincolnshire skies spread over the salt marshes; the sea stretches to the curve of the horizon and from where our Bostonian ancestors set off on their epic journeys to the new world – and you will find the vision behind “Dream Big”.
