Religious Education and Collective Worship

Religious Education

Our "Religion and World Views" curriculum content can be read on our Curriculum and Progression page.

The programme of study has been designed for our Trust by the local diocesan education specialist so it meets the needs of our children and reflects the community in which they live.

Case studies are reflective of both the local area, further afield and from other countries and include a proportional range of faiths and world views that are relevant and topical. Whilst being compliant with statutory guidance.

Collective Worship

Collective worship , often called “Assembly”, takes place every day at Carlton Road Academy.

The Link below will explain what and how this is shared and what parents may wish to find out about its content.

Collective Worship at Carlton Road

While the content of our lessons and assemblies are broad and balanced, and we believe they will  give our children a wide-reaching view of our world, we acknowledge that parents have the right to withdraw their children from religious education and/or collective worship.

Should you wish to do so, please request, with reasonable notice, a meeting with the headteacher.
